SMITH OPTICS

Bob Smith was an orthodontist, but more importantly, he was a ski bum too. In 1965, he developed the first sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam goggles, so he could get a couple more runs in on days when everyone else had to retreat inside. Smith Optics was soon founded, calling Sun Valley Idaho its home. Since then, Smith glasses has continued to pioneer advanced products to fuel fun beyond walls, creating innovations that amplify awesome where every detail makes a difference.

Smith’s history of product innovation has shaped where the company is today. Their first big innovation was creating an interchangeable lens for sunglasses and snow goggles, which was followed by advancements in fog-free goggle technology. During their journey and years of experience, Smith has created the world’s largest eco-friendly sunglasses collection in the world. Most recently they created ChromaPop which featured the most scientifically advanced polarized lens technology. Smith paired their new technology with Aerocore which create a drastically new approach to ventilation and protection in snow and bike helmets.

Smith Eyewear is and will always be dedicated to making products that authentically empower thrill seekers and modern explorers in the snow, bike, fish, surf, peak performance outdoor adventure and more. From dirt to snow, they continue to interject clean style into all their products. They know it’s all about the adventure and hanging out with your friends during awesome powder days and epic rides in the bike park.

Smith Sport Optic’s current product offering obviously still includes eyewear in many shapes and forms, but the company has also expanded into creating snow and bike helmets, accessories, and apparel. Smith also offers multiple signature products which were developed and designed hand in hand with some of their top athletes. Professional mountain bikers Aaron Gwin, Brandon Semenuk, and Brett Rheeder, all have signature edition Squad MTB Goggles.
