Shimano's SH-ME7 Shoes combine a lightweight XC frame with durable all mountain protection. They feature a low profile, but still offer ample ankle protection. An elastic cuff allows full motion, but prevents mud from getting in. Reverse mounted buckles and a Cross-X strap keeps them secure on your feet. The insole has extra cushioning to keep them comfortable even on long rides, and the Michelin dual-density soul provides ample traction.

These are the best MTB shoes that I've owned to date, and I've had at least a dozen pairs, mostly by Shimano, which fit my feet better than other brands. My main complaint about previous Shimano MTB shoes was that the tongue would drift to the side during a ride, but these shoes have eliminated the tongue and so no longer have that problem.
These have a nice grippy sole and I swear the cleat holes are positioned a little further back so your sort of positioned like a flat pedal. Maybe I'm imagining things but that's how they feel. Oh and I love the "heel boot" or gater. Whatever you call when pebbles and sand get picked up and thrown forward by rear tire, it bounces harmlessly off the boot. No more sand and gravel in your shoe. Using 'em for enduro and trail riding. Good stuff! I will give them 5 out of 5.
I use hybrid pedals on my MTB and I was looking for a shoe that would not slip so much on the flat side of the pedal. This shoe is the one. It fit my foot comfortably. I when I do walk off the bike I'm not worried about slipping. I had a tough time clipping out of the shoe because of the grippiness of the rubber, but I fixed it that by adding ab extra shim under my cleats
So, I say large because I dont feel the heel as secure as I do on other shoes. That said, on the shoes where my heel feels really secure, my toes feel jammed. Anyway. So far, these have been great shoes, but make sure you know what European size you really are.
True to size and pretty stiff, too, considering it's also much more comfortable to walk around in versus my road shoes. The ratchet strap was a little bothersome on my first ride with these shoes, but I haven't really noticed anything since that first ride. In retrospect I may have over-zealously reefed on them too much so chalk it up to user error. I'd definitely buy these again. Wish they were cheaper but you know what they say....
I wear Sidi's in 45 and these in 45 fit perfectly. A bit more room in the toe box which I need and softer overall fit. Still getting used to the "reverse-action" buckle and where to stash the pull cord gripper. Overall a really nice shoe.
