Much like all moving parts on your bike, your cables and your housing are going to wear out eventually. If your cables and housing wear out, then you'll need to replace them in order to keep your bike shifting properly. After you install your new cables, you'll need to cut the ends to keep everything looking nice and clean. The Shimano TL-CT12 allows you to easily cut the outer casing and cables easily. You’ll also be able to pinch end caps quickly, which will save your fingers a lot of pain and agony.
