Narrow-wide chainrings have been utilized by mountain bikers who run single chainring setups to help eliminate chain dropping. The science behind the design is the alternating tooth thickness, which greatly aids in chain retention by mimicking the alternating thickness between your inner and outer links on your chain. Wolf Tooth’s chainring, designed to fit specifically with Shimano GRX cranksets, features a four-bolt construction with a 110BCD and is available in multiple tooth options. The open profile of the chainring sheds and prevents mud build up so your drivetrain stays moving smoothly. Being made entirely of 7075-T6 aluminum helps maintain a lightweight yet durable construction.
