Trail mountain bikes are built for all-around fun on the singletrack and fireroads. They come with more suspension travel than a cross-country mountain bike, but less than an enduro bike. This makes them perfect for climbing, descending steep hills, and navigating technical terrain. Jenson USA carries a plethora of trail bikes from brands like Niner, Yeti, Ibis, and more.
Think of a trail mountain bike as a more aggressive XC mountain bike. They have longer travel, more aggressive frame geometries, and often come with more robust wheels and components. While these might not be the best for racing, they are still perfect for the rider whose only concern is having fun on the trails.
A trail bike is a type of mountain bike that is best used for riders who want to ride a little bit of everything. Whether it’s fast descents, quick climbs, or riding on tight switchbacks, a trail bike will be the best option.
There are many brands that make exceptional trail bikes. Brands like Niner, Santa Cruz, Norco, Yeti, and many more. These brands all have unique suspension designs that work well in demanding terrain and competitive frame geometries that are built for all-around trail riding.
Trail bikes come in all shapes and sizes. If you’re looking for something that is more aggressive than a cross-country bike, but lighter than a full-suspension mountain bike, then a hardtail might be a great option. Aluminum-framed bikes are also great for riders looking for something more economical than a carbon-framed bike.
If you’re looking to step up into a higher-end whip, then look no further than something with a lightweight carbon frame. High-end mountain bikes also come with electronic shifters and derailleurs, carbon wheels, and suspension that offers far more customizability. These bikes will climb faster, corner better, shift crisper, and stop better than a lower-end model.
