MOVE ON UP TO BIKE-NERDHOOD!
There is no better way to enhance your situational awareness while riding, especially in traffic, than with a helmet mount mirror.
Handlebar-mounted mirrors that I've tried all bounced around too much to be any help, and some other helmet-mounted units have a flat mounting surface that is very hard to find a location for on the helmet.
Because it sticks out from your helmet, this style of mirror is easy to knock into things, and easy to snap off, although this is not a function of cheap materials.
The other drawback is that the adhesive material, while devilishly sticky, dosn't hold forever. I have seen an improvement by using both supplied pieces of adhesive at the same time, which I think better shapes to meet the helmet surface.

It is important to make sure the helmet surface is clean so that the adhesive sticks well. I like the mirror well enough that I have just epoxied it to one of my helmets that I had trouble getting the mirror to stick on with the supplied adhesive.
