The First Extreme from Focus is designed with all mountain riders and enduro racers in mind. Featuring a full carbon frame and employing Focus’ Integrated Rear Suspension Technology (F.I.R.S.T.) the First Extreme boasts a unique and stunning look thanks to the position of the rear shock at the end of the top tube. This design not only protects the rear shock from muck and debris thrown up by the rear wheel but also makes the First Extreme easy to carry through unrideable sections of trail. The rear triangle consists of carbon stays with an oversized Horst link pivot and the links use needle bearings as opposed to traditional ball bearings due to the fact that they handle radial forces better. Thanks to this light design, the First Extreme exhibits excellent handling and acceleration, making it an efficient climber without sacrificing downhill capabilities. The First Extreme is equipped with a mix of quality Shimano components including the high end XTR rear derailleur that provides unparalleled shifting performance on the trail and is one of the lightest mountain derailleurs available. Paired with Shimano Deore XT front derailleur, shifters, and crankset this drivetrain is ready to take on everything from intense group rides to straight up racing. Stopping power comes from Avid Elixir 5 hydraulic disc brakes while a Fox Float 32 fork and Fox Float RL rear shock help absorb the terrain and keep you tracking fast and smooth.
