Just came back from a ride where I had a short and slow tumble. Picked the bike up and noticed that this lever was slightly bent near the pivot where the material is narrow-er. Bent it back and rode out. Never a worry until today. Doesn't need replacement.

Excellent levers at a good price. Very adjustable and very sturdy. Smooth pull during braking with very little play.

Comments about Avid Speed Dial 7 Levers:
I used these to replace stock levers on a cannondale F4. Much nicer looking, sturdier feel, a perfect match for the Avid mechanical discs I installed. They simply work well, with good feel and modulation. Feel even better as cable brakes in.

Comments about Avid Speed Dial 7 Levers:
These are the best linear levers out there for the price. Great for v-brakes and the cable-disc brakes. Well worth the money.

Comments about Avid Speed Dial 7 Levers:
Bought these to replace the Tektro levers that came on my bike. They provide a much smoother and easy pull thanks to the Speed Dial.

Comments about Avid Speed Dial 7 Levers:
My original brakes didn't have springs that pushed the levers back to their original positions so this is a huge plus. Design is super sturdy. Had a bad wreck on the Coldwater Mt. downhill(luckily I walked away with just a bruise) and the left lever was just slightly bent upward and it still functions perfectly.

Comments about Avid Speed Dial 7 Levers:
When I tuned the reach adjustment screw, it recessed into the housing, and I thought it would back out the other side, but it didn't.
The pull adjustment allows for modulation of the displacement of the lever when fully depressed.
My rear v-brakes are opened up more than my front brakes, but the adjustability of these levers allow me to compensate for my less-than-perfect rear wheel.
The Speed Dial 5's have only reach adjustment, but they are lighter and simpler. If your wheels are true and/or you don't need the extra adjustability, you might want to opt for the Speed Dial 5's instead of the 7's.

I've used these for over a year now and they have had no problems at all. They've worked properly and are the sort of thing you just set up and forget. If you're using mechanical disc or v-brakes, you can't go wrong with these.

I had this on my jamis xc sport for about 3 months now and it made my riding way better. It worked like a charm even with just cheap tektro IO calipers
