Installed two sets on my kids' road bikes. These provided a huge difference to my 12yo daughter in particular. She wasn't comfortable braking with the normal levers when going down hills - said she felt like she was going to go tip over. With these levers she is now perfectly comfortable on the bike and I had a hard time keeping up with her. Without these additional brake levers, I couldn't get my daughter to ride. My 9yo son likes his too, even though he doesn't have a problem using the standard levers.
Easy to install if you have decent mechanical skill. Adjustable reach is good for small hands. They seem pretty well made and durable, although time will tell on that.

I've had two sets of Tektro cross levers over the years and both have had the same problem: the silver pin that connects the lever to the clamp works its way loose and falls out. I've had my most recent set on my bike for just over a month and already the left-hand lever's pin has fallen out. You can replace it with a bolt, but you shouldn't need to. It's just shoddy manufacturing.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I had a pair of these added to my CX bike and don't know how I lived without them in the past. The ability to ride with your hands up top and still have access to the brakes is awesome when riding in traffic, or in a group.

I use it on a road bike that I use for commuting to school. I like it because in traffic it does not matter how I'm riding I always can have a hand on the brakes with this setup.
