X-Dome Technology is now available for 9 speed!  The revolutionary machined design of the XG-999 cassette uses the same manufacturing techniques that produce the XX and PowerDome cassettes.  With XG-999, seven of the cogs are CNC-machined out of a single piece of billet, creating an incredibly lightweight(only 175 grams!), precise and strong cassette.  The open design also aids in the dispersion of mud and muck for the smoothest shifting under any conditions.

Comments about Sram XG 999 9 Speed Cassette:

I have built five bikes over the years and the last three have been all SRAM except for the cog set. There really was nothing else to compare to the XTR piece, until now. If you are using a SRAM rear derailer and shifters this is a must have. It feels as if the chain is being sucked in to each shift. And whereas the XTR transmitted a little bit of chain vibration in the smallest cog, the SRAM unit is so tight you can feel the chain turning over the four or five smallest cogs. This is an engineering masterpiece.

Comments about Sram XG 999 9 Speed Cassette:

very light very stiff and very strong and will last a long time due to being made from steel.alluminum and titanium wear much faster than steel.and becauce it slides onto the wheel as one piece it does not put gouges in the freehub the way the seperatly mounted gogs of xtr does.if you want the absolute best 9 speed cassette then this is it
