High quality, but finicky setup.

I've never had an issue in multiple seasons of cyclocross (check out the pic -- works flawlessly in mud!).
Setup can be tricky and may require multiple attempts to prevent chain rub in the big / small cogs.

I trust Paul Components, so when I needed a chain guide, I had no qualms about checking out the Paul Chain Keeper. Quality component and good price. However, the chain guide is best for narrow chains. The product description clearly states as much, but I thought my chain would be fine. It was not. Still a quality component, just wasn't the right fit for me. Considering the prices of other options out there, I wouldn't hesitate to check it out if you have a narrow chain.

I got this for a 1x9 build I did for my daughter. She's 8 and her bike is sweeter than mine. The chain keeper does exactly what is intended to so, it's easy to set up and looks great.

Comments about Paul Components Chain Keeper:
This product is awesome when it works and horrible when it doesn't. The concept is great but the execution could be a lot better. The problem is that the clamps are not independently adjustable for each axis of movement, meaning that as you tighten down the bolt to keep it in place, it will shift and go out of adjustment. Very annoying. Works pretty much flawlessly once you get it dialed though.
I'd much rather use a clutch derailleur without a chain guide though. Much cleaner and no risk of chain rub.

Comments about Paul Components Chain Keeper:
I converted my Redline Conquest to a 1x10 and used this little gem for chain-keeping duties. Three races so far and no problems. Does take some time to get just right to avoid chain rub, but not nearly as bad as some reviewers led me to beleive. Looks and feels solid and does the job. Made by some dude named Paul.

Comments about Paul Components Chain Keeper:
I was averaging 1-2 chain drops a ride. So, I ordered the Chain Keeper. It is very solid. It was kind of a pain getting it installed just right. I've road about 200 miles so far and I haven't had a dropped chain since I installed the Chain Keeper. Good Product!
Comments about Paul Components Chain Keeper:
I installed this on my 1x10 cross country hardtail. It was dropping the chain an average of once per mile. I have not dropped the chain since installing this chainkeeper. The seat tube mount made for an easy install. You do have to fiddle with it to get it lined up correctly. I still get some rub in the outer most gears. It works.

Comments about Paul Components Chain Keeper:
This has made my 1x9 Cotic the bike of choice again. Easy to set up, even with a 42t front ring, enough adjustment to work on the 2 conventional frames I've run it on, light and minimal. Noiseless operation, and chain hasn't dropped once.
