I ride about 60 miles of XC a week. I used to ride without padded shorts but my sit bones began to hurt when my mileage increased. I saw these on sale for 66% off and bought two of them for about $50 total. These are easily worth it. I tell everyone who is serious about biking to get padded shorts now. These have a sticky ring around the bottom of the leg that keeps them from sliding. They also have a draw string at the waste to prevent them from sliding. The chamois does NOT slide around on the seat like I was worried about. I wouldn't recommend using these under 50F but above that they are fine (perfect if you live in South US). I will even wear these under jeans/shorts after a ride to go to the store or a restaurant. And they air dry quickly

I bought these at a LBS. I put Roadie as my riding style, but I use these both for XC and road riding. The shorts fit and feel fine, but I just got back into biking this year and I haven't been doing any crazy amount of riding. To be honest, I've probably put 600 - 700 miles on these shorts and they've already worn a hole through the short on the left inner thigh where my inner thigh rubs on the saddle while peddling. Besides that the stitching on the right side securing the pad to the short(which is double stitched) has worn and come undone. So after putting that small amount of miles (comparatively) on these shorts, and their already falling apart, is sadly disappointing. So, if your training and doing 250 miles a week or something, then don't expect these shorts to last.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Attack Shorts:
Not a bad short for their 'Select Series' and at the price, it is really unbeatable. However, although the product description says 'Race 3D chamois' it is actually the 'Tour 3D chamois' or at least that's what the tag on my shorts say. Not sure it really matters as it's a minute disparity according to the PI website. Nice pair to have on hand as backup for when you forget (or too lazy) to do laundry after the day before's ride.

I've owned Pearl Izumi shorts ever since I started mountain bikeing and was happy with it so when I saw this on sale, I pulled the trigger.
Great quality, great fit. This model had a draw string which I never had in any of my cycling shorts. Thought I'd mention it here since it was not mentioned in the product description.
None the less, I will still recommend this shorts!

Good work-horse shorts. I ride 30-40 miles in them with no problems. I'm 32 inch waist and shorts fit me well.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Attack Shorts:
Ok, Reviewer 1 is crazy. I have had a pair for 2 years and I have beat the hell out of them and they are still in perfect condition. These are soooooooooooo much better than the junk PI makes now. If you ride up to 50 miles they are perfect. Anything over that I would spend a little more and get something better. I am 6'2" 180 with a 31" waist and the mediums are perfect. Too bad i bought the last pair. The stuff PI makes now is not the same. The leg grippers on the new stuff are cheap. The new ones feel a lot cheaper. These are well built. Never dry them though......
