Comments about Blackburn Cloudburst Full Cover Fender:

Whoever designed these should be personally made to try to fit them on a bike and then attempt to ride around with them for a day. And believe me, they won't be able to.
Here's why...
In profile (looking side-on) these fenders seem designed for a wheel arc at least 30 inches in diameter, much wider than could possibly make for a trim fender-line with a 700c wheel. More, being made from polycarb, they can't be bent into the correct shape to match your wheel; you're stuck with whatever shape these fenders have.

Further, looked at from the front (end-on), these fenders are way too narrow to have as deep a curavature as they do. The gap between the adjusting barrels is only 15mm. (That's to say, 4mm or almost 1/4 of an inch NARROWER than my rims are to begin with, let alone with (fairly skinny) 700c x 23 tires mounted on them.) These are supposeed to be 35mm wide, but in fact are only about 33mm, and less than 30mm where they're pinched at the adjustment bridges. And, like the diameter of the fender in profile, they can't be bent to any less deep or flatter shape; ergo, tire-rub is unavoidable- it's like having a brake partly clamped down on the wheel at all times.

To their credit though, the adjusting mechanism itself is clever, stylish, and intuitive; it's really too bad the designers got all the functional dimensions wrong.

Blackburn has made some accessories of good quality in the past, and I bought these fenders based on those experiences. However in this case quality control seems to have been absent, they are pretty much useless, and to that end I do feel quite ripped off.

This product was disappointing, despite the promises of Blackburn quality. I tried to use them with 1.5" tires but the plastic camps that hold the metal support encroach about 10mm into the clearance, so you end up with about 35mm of clearance instead of 45mm. Bad design.
