Comments about Blackspire Stinger Chain Tensioner:
Have this mounted on a Rocky Mountain Altitude 50 RSL with a Race Face bash guard. There was not room for the inner chain ring unless the BB spacer was positioned between the Stinger and the bearing cup. I suppose that's OK, but it makes the BB spacing 75.5mm and requires adjusting the Front Derailleur. But for that little oddity, the thing went on without a hitch. It is clever in its simplicity of operation; the chain simply climbs to the larger roller shoulder when you shift to the small ring and drops to the smaller one when you up-shift. It's not a case of never dropping a chain, but it happens a lot less often. Probably worth the weight increase if your trails deliver a beating like mine do.

Comments about Blackspire Stinger Chain Tensioner:
One of those items that you'll know if you don't have it, but most times it's just there and works.
I've bought several of these for my 2x setups.

Comments about Blackspire Stinger Chain Tensioner:
I was getting tired of my chain derailing in the same rock garden. I run two front chainrings and did not want to spend a lot of money on a chain guide. I thought I would give this a try. Wow it really worked well and was very afordable. The Black Spire tensioner was very easy to install as well. It also made the shifting a lot faster front and rear. I am very happy with the product.
Comments about Blackspire Stinger Chain Tensioner:
The stinger just flat out works. I only lost my chain once in one year of thrashing the bike over local trails and bike parks alike. Simple, easy to install and the best part is the price! Perfect for any two ring set-up out there.
Comments about Blackspire Stinger Chain Tensioner:
After trying another multi ring guide and still having many issues with dropped chains I tried the balckspire stinger and it's working great. I also like that I get to use the bash ring vs. the taco style bash used with other setups. No more dropped chains!

Comments about Blackspire Stinger Chain Tensioner:
Was a pain to install, but that was only because I've never removed my bottom bracket before. Simple once I figured it all out though. It felt strongly held, however I had a stroke of bad luck and took a 5 inch rock straight to the bracket which knocked the Stinger out of place and the roller broke off when it impacted the chainstay.
I will definitely be getting a new roller though, it did exactly what I wanted it to. No more dropped chains for me and it eliminated quite a bit of chain slap. Cant wait to get the new roller in the mail.
