This new tool serves the same function as the older BBT-9 model: to install and remove Shimano Hollowtech II bottom bracket cups (as well as other brands using the same spline pattern, such as Race Face or Truvativ). But it does it one better: now it hooks up to a 38" driver of your choice (Ratchet, torque wrench, etc) making it easier to control torque and reduce slippage.

I spent more time on...
I spent more time on a lathe enlarging the hole so the tool would work than I did replacing my BB. The tool probably works alright on other BB, just not a Howitzer.

i used this to install my new shimano BB with a torque wrench. fit and worked perfectly. at no point it felt like it was going to slip or did not fit well.

Forget about cheaping out and buying the wrench style BB cup tool. Get this instead and properly torque down those BB cups.
