Say goodbye to Avid, Hayes, Formula, and so on. This is hands the the best brake ever. You'll know the difference the moment you pull the lever for the first time. Brake feels very precise, super smooth. and there's more than enough braking power. I would recommend this brake everyone.
The chrome part of the master cylinder is paint. Which means, if you crash, the paint will come off. Just FYI.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great lever modulation when used with m785 calipers and RT-86 Rotors. Minimal fade, and easy to bleed system. Use high flow tubing from shimano. Caution, brake levers are powerful and "grabby" Bad part, is I had deffective front brake lever from shimano, and I needed a lever in order to make an epic ride that weekend. So I shelled out some cash to come to the Riverside, CA will call center from Orange County. Lastly, Shimano did replace deffective lever within 3 days for free. "Clicking" SLR plastic roll guide was cracked out of factory. A similar sound of classic V-brake SLR clicking sound and return engagement. Needs to be made of metal not plastic or resin. Now I have a good new spare from Shimano just in case. :)
