As with the MT4, the brake lever supplied on the basic model in the MT range is made from CARBOTECTURE®. The lever and clamp are manufactured from aluminium. The two-piece brake calliper provides for a more economic production process, and MAGURA passes on this price advantage directly to the end customer. As a basic model, the MT2 is only behind its bigger sisters in tipping the scales, as it delivers the same braking power and optimum lever geometry as the models toward the top end of the range. I use to have a motorcycle and ATV and was familiar with Magura products. They make quality parts for Motorsports and they certainly make quality parts for bikes. I've beaten and banged up everything on my bike and the brakes still work like brand new. No need for the warranty but it's a nice to have just in case.

I bought a set of these this spring (2012)along with 8in rotors to replace Magura Clara's which came stock on my 2001 Rocky Mountain Slayer. I didn't have the proper bleeding tools, so bleeding was a messy, experimental affair until we figured it out. Once bled, these brakes have been brilliant for me. A huge improvement over the stock brakes. Brake application is solid and predictable.
