Great Quality and Great Price

By JR

from Seattle, WA

  • Great from the drops
  • Lightweight
  • PRECISE SHIFTING
  • Sturdy feel

Cons

  • Shifting takes practice

Best Uses

I have a Blue AC1 with SRAM Force and it really couldn't be better. I am a cat 3 road cyclist and I would reccomend this to any serious cyclist or racer. It's light, fast, precise, and smooth, yet it all feels very sturdy and well-made. The only downside is that it can take some time to get used to the double-tap shifters. I came from Shimano and it took a couple weeks to get everything totally dialed in. However, the double-tap is great from the drops. After I had everything tuned up after the first month of riding, everything was smooth as butter. For the price, I think that this group far exceeds Ultegra and Chorus. Definitely a worthy investment!

    • Shifting Smoothness

I'm trying to keep an open mind about it, but just do not like the SRAM shifting compared to Shimano. It's easy to miss shift due to the dual tap levers. For example climbing a hill sometime I will push the lever to make sure I'm in the lowest gear. With Shimano you know because the lever won't go any further. With SRAM it will actually shift the bike into a higher gear. The leverage you get from the shifters is terrible to. Save yourself some hassle and find a bike with Shimano.
