Cane Creek 10 Series EC34 1 1/8" Headset

Quantity   Out of stock.
The 10-Series headset from Cane Creek takes the look and feel of their leading 40-Series headset, yet with simpler machining and more economical material. If you're looking for a more wallet-friendly alternative to the Cane Creek 40, this is it! In order to make the 10 a more economical headset, a few minor changes were made to the design of the venerable 40 series headset. Namely, the steel crown race has been replaced with a polymer resin crown race (still plenty strong) and the aluminum top cap has been replaced with a resin top cap. The 10 also forgoes a crown race dust cover seal and a top cover "slit" seal. Despite these differences, the same high quality aluminum cup construction and sealed cartridge bearings are present on the 10, giving you the most economical cost-to-performance ratio!

The 10-Series headset is made from 6061 T-6 aluminum and features internal parts that are cross compatible with Cane Creek’s 40 and 110-series headsets, making upgrade and replacement parts readily available.

  • 6061 T-6 aluminum construction
  • Fits 1 1/8 steerer tubes
  • EC34/28.6, EC34/30
  • Weight: 110g

Comments about Cane Creek 10 Series EC34 1 1/8" Headset:

I have never experienced any problems with Crane Creek headsets going WAY back to the S2 headset. There is absolutely no reason for me to spend more money on a headset. What impresses me is that they invented the headset.

Comments about Cane Creek 10 Series EC34 1 1/8" Headset:

Let's be honest here... headsets only really need to do one thing. Let your handlebars turn without making weird noises or feeling crunchy. This headset does that. However, the cheesy plastic parts included are the top cap and the crown race. Now... "plastic" and "crown race" are just two words that I would never want in the same sentence. Thus, purchase this headset, but buy the appropriate Cane Creek 40 series crown race, and use a proper alloy top cap. You'll have a 40 series headset for a fraction of the price. Boom. NO problems with mine so far.

Comments about Cane Creek 10 Series EC34 1 1/8" Headset:

I purchased this headset for a build I was doing for a friend, and because it was just a bike for city riding, I went for the 10 series instead of the forty or 110 series headsets. I wish I had gone with the forty, because I opened up the box of this one and it just seems plasticky cheap. Even the crown race is plastic!

Despite all this, it does its job really well at the moment, I'm just not sure how long it will last.
