These came stock on my cross bike. My first impulse was to replace them with some Avid Shortys. I decided to give them a try. I believe Tektro is pretty deep in the cyclocross thing and a few friends told me they where pretty decent brakes. They seem to work just fine. They stay adjusted and provide enough stopping power in most conditions. I have noticed at speed one really needs to apply the levers hard to stop. I can not speak of long term durability as I have only been using them for one season. But if you are building a cross bike on a budget these would be worth it to get you going.
