I had looked at other car-top bike carriers for my Subaru, but I know the Yakima name is one of the best out there for the money
I could not be happier with this piece. I've used it for a few local trips/rides, but got to put it through a real test when I did a 3500 mile cross country trip. Across the windy and rainy flyover states, the Yakima held tight to my Cannondale 29er.
I did purchase the lock kit separately for added security, too.
If you want a carrier that accepts a whole host of bike frame and tire sizes without grabbing onto the frame itself, THIS is the one to get!

I really like these racks. I bought two and don't always keep them on the car as I use the cross bars for other things. I can mount both racks and load two bikes in under five minutes. I added sks lock cores and feel that everything secures well. I did have one of the end caps fall off while I was driving but that doesn't affect the performance. My wife and I are short people and I'm just tall enough at 5'6" to safely load the bikes. My wife at 5'2" has a hard time getting them on our Jetta. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and would go the same route again.

This rack fit perfectly on our Subaru Outback factory cross bars and holds the bike very firm. Little to no wind noise unless there is a bad cross wind. This would be a great value is you didn't have to buy the locks seperately.
