I've used this rack on several different vehicles from sedans to station wagons and it was easy to get a secure fit on every one. It has 6 straps to keep it from moving around and the pads that touch the car have caused no damage to the finish. The rubber clamps that hold the bikes are secure and do not damage the paint.
A trick I use to keep the bikes from rubbing together is to get them as close together as possible so they are touching and use 6 to 8 inch pieces of foam plumbing pipe insulation wrapped around the bike tubing at those points. I've never had any damage.

This is a great bike rack overall. It is very versatile and works on most any type of car and comes with adapters for SUV's glass trunks. We have the three bike holder and it works great for 2 if you leave a space in the middle so they don't rub. Three is pretty tight and we have done some paint damage to our bikes on long trips because the plastic holders will slide on the bar after a long ride. That is my only real complaint, other than that it is a great solid bike rack and your bikes won't sway back and forth with the design of the plastic holders. I'd recommend it.
