This was just what I needed. I have a truvativ crankset and got the 32 tooth chainring to replace my worn second ring. Works great! Very smooth shifting and absolutely no slipping anymore! Not sure if it will fit shimano cranks, but I know the shimano rings do not fit truvativ cranks because the diameter is not quite wide enough, so the truvativ rings should fit the shimano cranks with a bit of room. . .

My middle ring wore out rather fast on my Noir crankset, in a matter of a few months (started slipping under torque), so I decided to replace it with a longer lasting Truvativ steel 32T ring.Easy to install, just line up the inner notch with the crank arm and tighten the chainring bolts. Shifts up fine, but seems to "dump" the chain down to the granny in a not very smooth or quick manner.I took off my crank and reinstalled everything to make sure I had it right, but it seems to be a design issue with the chainring (doesn't have the half height teeth normally seen with other rings). I guess I can't expect much for a $20 chainring when I'm used to XX and XTR ones, which go for $100 ea.

TruVative steel chain rings for middle and granny have excellent wear qualities. Plus they are cheap, and they are the only steel chain rings I can find. These last much longer than aluminum for mountain riding through mud, creeks, sand, gravel, and granite dust. I go through about four cassettes before having to replace the granny and mid due to chainsuck.
