The X- King is a super fast grippy tire. Despite the pronounced studs, the X- King rolls smoothly and very quietly. This light tire has many applications. It can be used as either a front or rear tire in a veriety of terrains. The X-King is infused with Continental’s Black Chili Compound, which offers a solid grip and is self cleaning. The shoulder lugs provide absolute stability during high speed corners. This version of the X- King features two forms of cutting edge tire technology, Black Chili Compound, and Revolution Tubeless Ready System (RTR.)
In 2007, Black Chili compound hit the market. It has been a hit with cyclists ever since. Black Chili improves tire performance in all areas. It lasts longer, grips better, and rolls faster. It has 26% less rolling resistance, 30% higher grip, and even 5% longer mileage. The Black Chili Compound is only made in Korbach Germany, and the recipe is not shared with any other tire manufacturer.
The Revolution Tubeless Ready system provides the perfect combination of smooth running, grip, and puncture protection. ProTection RTR features 4 ply heavy duty nylon (4 under tread, 3 in the sidewall.) The Revolution Tubeless Ready (RTR) system offers a UST style bead, and mid- weight casing for full tubeless compatibility. For optimal results, Continental recommends using the Continental RevoSealant with these tires.

I used this tire tubeless and it works great. I like the wide low knobs. It fits my style and local trails well as it rolls quick and is wide enough (2.4 version) to hook up really well.

I immediately noticed the difference in traction while turning. I am able to lean in and the tire just sticks. I have not tried this tire in any muddy conditions, but for dry hardpacked it works great.

I won a set of these tires in an online contest, and I love them. They roll quite fast and grip well despite the small-ish knobs. The 2.2 version isn't too heavy, which is a plus for me, and they seem to be wearing well. The rubber does feel pretty soft, so I'm sure road miles would quickly wear them down. That said, though, they're just about perfect for my hardpack XC riding conditions.

I have not tried a ton of tires but of the ones I have ridden on, I like these the best. The knob pattern is consistent which makes flat-land cornering fun and easy. The trails that I ride have a bunch of roots and sometimes in the worst places. These tires grip them well. The tough sidewall adds weight but I can see where it would be useful. Good all-rounder. I have even put a pair on my friend's bike and they saw a huge improvement in traction and stability.

Good all arounder, but not for muddy conditions. I have a set of RaceSport 2.2s mounted up right now. Setup for tubeless was easy (using ZTR Flow rims). Just used them for a 12 hour endurance race on a very diverse course. They performed flawlessly.....this is my second set of X-Kings and when I wear these out I'll be putting on another set.
