Got these to shave weight. But I run two different wheelsets on the XC bike and change them over and back at least once a week. These skewers cannot handle that. If you intend to set them and forget them, they will be fine (if flexible) for a while. But if you need to undo and retighten them every week, they will die very very quickly. I used them for a couple of weeks and now they are off the bike as I lost confidence in them - knowing that if I kept using them and switching them, they'd be junked in no time. Tempted to return.Front is too flexible anyway imo. Go with cromoly there.Allen wrench sockets lack precision. My main set of Allen Wrenches seemed too loose, so I tried a brand new multitool, same thing. Tried a new allen wrench, no difference. It's not the tools, it's the skewers. Checked with digital vernier caliper.These will shave a little weight, esp if you're still running quick releases. But they come with a lot of downsides. You had better be prepared for them and the cost of replacing. If so, they are a fine product. If not, you will be disappointed. For my needs these are a 2*, but I appreciate that for others they will be just the ticket so I'll give them a 3. With a hard and precise insert for the allen wrench and no need for a spanner (like the halo skewers) these would be a 5* for everyone. Tabs like on the Halo skewers would make these 'heavier', BUT you wouldn't need the little spanner!.. One tab on each skewer would def weight a lot less than a separate spanner however tiny! They just needed to put a tab on the non-bolt side's nut. Would have been a free 3mm cubed of scandium instead of a separate alu spanner. Grrr.

Although I consider myself a Weekend Warrior, I am an aggressive rider who comes from a motocross background. I do ride every day, but off-road only 2 times a week. The product bolts right on with no issues. I have checked to make sure the axles were tight and they have not loosened up at all!
