The Karakoram 1.0 Hardtail from GT is designed to let you tackle the most grueling XC rides. Featuring a light and durable 6061-T6 aluminum frame and efficient, comfortable geometry, the GT Karakoram climbs effortlessly thanks to its hardtail design while a Rock Shox XC32 TK fork provides just enough cushion through root sections and rock gardens. Further efficiency is added thanks to the use of the 29” wheelsize that provides a greater angle of attack and maintains a higher rolling momentum than 26” wheels. This means that you can ride over bigger obstacles for longer using less energy, making it perfectly suited for the endurance demands of cross country riding. The Karakoram 1.0 is built up with a mix of quality components including a XT Deore rear derailleur that provides realiable and exact shifting under the grueling conditions found on the trail. SLX front derailleur and shifters combined with an FSA Gamma Drive triple crank complete the drivetrain and round out a package that is both light and reliable. When descending and cornering at high speed, Avid Elixir 1 hydraulic disc brakes provide precise modulation and incredible stopping power.
