I love this product.I bought the Protege 9.0 a year after it came to maket I am now changing the battery! The last two years I have used it riggerously with -0- problems whatsoever. It only weakness, it has is using it in the heat of the summer of sun, i.e., direct day light in the summer causes crystal screen to burn! This is commom for any type of crystal screen product. You can avoid this by angling the unit perpendicular to the sun rays. Also, if your caught in a down pour the unit goes out, i.e., the contacts under the unit can no longer read the sensors or it get wet inside, but it does records your trip accurately somehow although the screen is blank!? However, no worries, the unit come back when it dries out. I usually travel hundreds of miles a month all year around and would not travel without it. Yes there are other units out there that do more but they don't have the temperture function which is priceless. Why? there are times when traveling or time of the day the weather tempertures changes drasticly this can effect your personel performance. It is important to know your performance at certain weatherly temps in order to avoid injuries. Sometimes, you notices you were not at your personal best all because of 7 degree temp change. Knowing this can help one avoid straining ourselves to injury. I use a separate unit monitor my heart. From the hot summer days at 80 plus to single digits in the winter this unit pays for itself on every outing. What the others don't have compare to this unit is the cost! This unit, dollar for dollar is more superior! My Cannondale cost me with all it accessories is about 2k. I travel mostly at night using street light above for lighting {spying} the unit and I take my cycling very seriously. This is a pro-tool in every way. Everything is strategicly and logically place on the screen so you can keep you eyes on the road. When you travel at night that is extremely important especially when your pacing on a dark country road where vehicle are screaming pass you at 45-60 plus mph! Yes I do use pro lighting on my bike that cost about $400.00 and I am not a shame of this product it does the job. If they ever add a heart monitoring system and gps it would be perfect. Thus I reluctantly give it a 4 stars not 5.

After using an iPhone 4S for a while, these ancient electronics seem pretty... well, ancient. The unit is very thick, with a display that is very low end. The monochrome LCD display. That said, it does what it's supposed to do and it does it pretty well.
I really like that is has a thermometer. Once you've been riding for a while, it can be hard to judge what the actual temperature is.
If you use this on a mountain bike, it will shoot off from time to time. Sometimes on landing large drops, and of course sometimes you'll smack it with your knee and send it flying, while doing steep climbs.
All that said, for the price, it's pretty good. I do wish they could improve the screen. Maybe add a backlight. And make this device about 1/3 as thick as it currently is.

I have had many computers over the years. Decided on this one because it got some very good reviews. Glad I did. I've used it for a year now without any problems. I've got about 1200 miles out of it so far - much better than any other computer i've used in the past. Even the white color has grown on me - i've always had either black or grey computers.

Jenson had a good price, but that was thrown away because my computer was DOA. Everything worked except for the fact that the pick-up never registered as the magnet would pass. I'll give it a 3, because I'm assuming I'll get a working one when I exchange it. FYI, the temp was very accurate on mine (matched 2 other digital thermometers & thermostat in my house)

Great products with the exception of the temperature accuracy. Easy to use with no buttons, only need to push the case to go through the other menu modes. Excellent computer, far better than others at even twice the price.
