These are great shorts for biking. As others have said, you might want to consider going up a size -- especially if you are at the top of the range for your normal size. They have an anatomical fit so they are meant to follow the contours of the body. I'm 5'9, 32 inch waist which should indicate small, however the medium is what I bought.

At first, even the medium seemed a little tight, but now they seemed to have loosened a bit. The length is just about an inch or two more than I would like, falling just below my knee on the upstroke so I tightened the velcro strap on the leg and rolled them up. I like my knees to be slightly exposed when riding so the pants don't rub against the leg.

I took out the liner. It just seemed too crowded down there. Maybe I'll try reattaching them as the weather gets cooler.

The recommended sizing is way off. I wear a 36" waist. So got the large which was supposed to fit 36-38" waist. I could barely squeeze into them. I'm not convinced that the XL would fit (39-41") so I didn't bother to re-order. Thank goodness Jenson is excellent for returns.

          Comments about Endura Hummvee Short:

I have not used these shorts, so my rating isn't based on use. I'm 34 - ordered a size bigger as suggested. They were still too small. There's no good reason for shorts at this price to be this inaccurate in size.

I really love these shorts and the integrated liner is one of the best (compared to other shorts I've tried.) I also really like the belt rather than using integrated velcro tabs or buttons to adjust the fit.

Like others have said, order the next size up since the sizing seems to run small.

                          Comments about Endura Hummvee Short:

I caught 'em on here or PP last year, and waited for them to go on sale.
Then while on Maui as I was snagging a rental bike, I found a pair IN MY SIZE on their rack. They had 'em on sale, so I picked 'em up for $49-WITH Liner!!
It was in the high-80s and HUMID that whole week, but they were very comfortable nonetheless, and since I've got 'em home, they've continued to be my go-to pair.
I biffed kinda hard, which entailed me sliding over some rocks, then some roots that were actually sticking UP out of the ground. They were nasty enough to tear my Leatt elbow pads, and punch a hole in my leg that require deep stitches.
Despite all this, the Endura shorts didn't so much as get a freaking scratch.
I think I have a 2013 pair, as they're tan and black(which isn't listed here). I say this because mine fit TRUE to size.
They also have a separate black piece of fabric that is separated from the shorts, and covers the butt area. I bring this up because I don't know it's purpose. Only thing I can come up with is extra abrasion protection for your butt. In my case it didn't come into play, as I slid on my side.
Anyway, I like 'em so much I'm on here looking to buy another pair. Hopefully they'll go on sale :-)

These are really good shorts - not too baggy, or too tight - freedom of movement! As other reviewers said - definitely get the next bigger size than you normally would. Lots of pockets for whatever. Seem to be pretty durable, and worth the price for sure!

I am newly into mountain biking after being a road cyclist for a number of years. I have purchased Endura stuff for road biking and like the quality and durability so I was thrilled to find a shop selling their mtb stuff. As everyone already warned in the other comments, the sizing runs a little low but It isn't that bad. I'm 6'2" with a 35" waist and they are snug but not tight.

So far I have trashed these things in the mud and they are holding up great. No signs of wear. I love having all of the pockets and the removable liner lets me take out the butt cushion and wear them for hiking too. I would buy these again in a heartbeat.

Shorts seem durable and lots of pockets, but I returned them because they seemed too heavy for summer use and the sizing runs small (if you normally wear XL you'll need XXL).
