I have really enjoyed these pedals. And so have my shins :) But they feel great and have great grip with 5 10 shoes. Only issue I have come across is I have lost pins in the pedals and they do not come with replacement pins... and it is hard to even take the broken pins out.

they are light, attractive and spin well. no play between platform and axle. service is easy and replacement pins can be sourced at local hardware store. the problem I've had is that you WILL need replacement pins. The Magnesium is really soft. I ride a Yeti 575 with pretty low BB height, pedal strikes happen, especially in some of the local SoCal rock gardens. the pins on the outer part of the platform have sheared multiple times. if not for this, I would be stoked on these.
Probably a great pedal for a bike that sits higher than mine - or a more skilled rider

Comments about DMR V12 Mag Pedals:
I have used these pedals for years and have never had any issues. Their grip is decent regardless of the shoes I wear or the condition I ride in.

Comments about DMR V12 Mag Pedals:
I have these pedals on a Yeti 575, riding mostly in woods in the Southeast. They've given great grip while flying over rocky and root-covered terrain, off drops and jumps. They are also relatively lightweight pedals for the price, and can be made lighter with ti axles. The pedals are a bit thicker than I would like, but nothing too serious. As for the V12 mag's smashability? I've had the pedals on two different bike for about 4 years. They've taken their fair share of rock and root hits and for the most part have withstood major damage, although the paint comes off pretty easily from a strike which sucks. I did strike the pedals particularly hard against a rock at one point which snapped one of the pins and deformed the hole the bottom half of the pin was in so it couldn't be removed, which was disappointing. That being said, I haven't noticed a big loss of grip from that single pin being gone. Since then I have learned to better control my pedal position to prevent strikes, which is a good skill to have anyways. The bottomline: If you aren't particularly concerned with how the pedals look and you don't intentionally try to smash your pedals through boulders, these are great pedals to have at at a reasonable price.

Comments about DMR V12 Mag Pedals:
I typically ride AM clipped in but after a knee injury it was difficult to rotate out of my clipless pedals. I opted to go with these platforms and a pair of 5-10 shoes. It almost made me not miss clipping in. I ride enough hills that I was missing the ability to pull up the pedal on the up stroke. Otherwise I enjoyed everything about thes pedals.

These pedals have worked great so far. Grips is great with good shoes. I only wish the actual platform was more square.

Very good platforms. I replaced my stock Giant pedals with these. Combined with a pair of 5-10 Impacts, the grip is unbelieveable. If anyone is looking for the stability of clipless while not actually being attached to your bike, I'd highly recommend this combo.

Comments about DMR V12 Mag Pedals:
I had always liked the shape of the platform on these pedals combined with the concaved profile. They remind me of the old GT platform pedals on my BMX.
Now it seems that everyone is going with a bigger platform. I would probably recommend the Vault over the V12.
Some pins have sheared off on both pedals after two full seasons. A few pins have bent as well making it impossible to replace them.
I still do recommend these pedals, but I will buy the DMR Vault for next year
Comments about DMR V12 Mag Pedals:
I felt i should make this comment based on many reviews of threaded pin pedals! You really need to use heavy thread lock on the pins and let that dry over night! Many people that have pins come out would not have them fall out if properly thread locked! This is a generic comment for all pinned pedals!

Comments about DMR V12 Mag Pedals:
Used them for two rides and returned them. The pins sheared off and with access only from the top of the pedal, remnants of the pins remain in the threads. I live in a very rocky area pedal strike is inevitable. Proabably better suited for non-trail use.

I swapped out by SPD's for these so I can just hop on my bike and ride. Grip is great almost to good, got a few painful reminders on my shins and calvs.
