I think the best bike products are ones that can solve a problem better than others but do it in a simple way. These do.

No grip is sacrificed whatsoever vs the top brand metal pedals. The tall pins and huge width makes them a great contact point between your feet and bike.

The weight savings vs a comparable aluminum pedal is significant and noticeable...around half a pound.

I slightly prefer a concave pedal profile to these, but it took only 5 mins on the first ride with them to get completely comfortable.

I have found these to be very durable, but it could be argued that they cannot possibly be quite as durable. Deity acknowledges this concern by making replacement parts readily available and inexpensive.

Note: it is possible to damage the threads inside the pedal body that the end caps screw into (and hold the pedal tight on the spindle) if you over-tighten too much. I did that once but deity provided awesome customer service. Just go until it is snug then stop, and you won't have this problem.

    Comments about Deity Compound Pedals:

Rode these today for the first time at Sweetwater trail in Tucson. I didn't have any slippage off the pedals while riding some of the rockiest sections (Lost Arrow). I had been debating switching to platforms after riding clipless for over a decade and am glad I did. I have way more confidence riding up steep rocky steps knowing I can easily put a foot down when needed. Definitely recommended for mountain bikers who want to avoid the hazards of clipless. I cannot pull up on the pedals, but that small lack of efficiency is far outweighed by safety.

      Comments about Deity Compound Pedals:

I've been using these pedals for about 6 months and love them. I live in Southern Utah and ride a variety of trails from technical slick rock to downhill. I use FiveTen shoes and they stick like glue. I initially was hesitant to buy a plastic pedal but have been pleasantly surprised. They glide over rocks much easier with a pedal strike compared to the Wellgo and Shimano ones I used previously. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again, especially for the price.

These pedals are amazing, I was blown away by how much they grip when combined with a pair of 5/10 shoes. For the price you can't find a better pedal for DH MTB. Lightweight, durable, and a large foot surface.

I was looking at buying some new platform pedals with good group and came across these. First time i rode them I felt a huge difference and felt almost as if i was clipped in. These are great pedals with a great look and feel. Very slick and great for mountain biking such as downhill, free riding, enduro, and dirt jumping.
