This stem is long and beefy—nearly 7 inches and weighs about 270g—and stuck way out of my road bike's head tube. It slid easily into my fork and I'm sure it would work well for a bike designed with a more upright geometry and an emphasis on strength over weight. I decided instead on the Origin8 quill adapter that's much shorter and over 100g lighter. It fit completely into my head tube for a proper road bike handlebar height and a nice clean look. If you need strength and rise, the Dimension is your man; if not, look elsewhere.

I got this adapter for an old road bike frame so that i could retrofit it with a newer stem and handlebar. It worked quite well! It is a tad on the heavy side but whatever, the steel frame of this road bike isn't exactly svelt. A very cost effective way of MacGyvering up an old roadie frame to new hardware.

This adapter is solid, has a nice anodized finish, and has room on the top for at least one spacer. I required a stem mounted cable stop for the front canti brakes - and there was just a enough room to fit it on under the stem. The quilll end fit in, but it was a super tight fit, if I needed it to go in further I would have needed to modify it for sure.

Overall OK but I have the experience and tools for minor modifications, as upgrading vintage road bikes requires. I would recommend this to anyone upgrading an old bike as long as they know minor mods may be required.

There is no question that this DOES fit a 22.2 mm fork with no problemThis stem is quite long, and I actually had to trim the bottom to be able to insert it as far as I wanted.
