True and round wheel. As others have noted the bearings are crunchy and must be adjusted properly before use. Spokes were sized slightly long and spoke protrudes beyond the nipple head and with a double channel rim like this that means flats if you don't use a high quality thick rim strip like Velox or equivalent. I wouldn't put this on a high end mountain bike (well maybe in a pinch) but if you've got an old beater that you leave leaning up against the local coffee shop or locked at the train station, this is for you.

Comments about Dimension w/ Alex X2000 26" MTB Wheels:
When my factory rim was wrecked due to a stick on the trail forcing the rear derailleur to bale into the spokes and break several, I used this to convert a low end mountain bike from a 13 – 34 freewheel into a bike that readily accepts 7, 8, and 9 speed cassettes.
That was over 6,000 miles ago. I am 6'3" and my weight can vary between 190 – 250 lbs depending upon my fitness level. I strictly ride old railroad lines that have been converted into rails to trails. They're sometimes a little rough with fallen rocks and the like, but I'm by no means jumping, climbing rocks, and things along those lines. I've hit large rocks and various other debris that have caused the rim to go out of true. Sometimes, the rim was bent so badly it rubbed the frame, but I had no problems bringing it back into true. I haven't suffered any broken spokes as of yet, but I am rather gentle on my bikes. My average speed on the trail varies between 15 – 18 mph depending upon the trail condition, and I cycle 140 – 200 miles per week when I ride my mountain bike. This rim has been through sub zero temperatures, all four seasons, and everything Central Pennsylvania climate can throw at it. I cycle in all conditions. It also serves as my rain bike. I am primarily a road cyclist. I don't mean to bang on about myself, but I feel that it gives the reader some idea of my cycling background so they can compare it with their style to better make a purchasing decision.
My rim was black and spokes were both black in color, and the paint hasn't worn or chipped off yet.
I would recommend this rim to anybody that wants an inexpensive alternative to being stuck with freewheels and wanting to make the switch to cassettes.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope that you found it helpful.
Cheers,

Comments about Dimension w/ Alex X2000 26" MTB Wheels:
The rim has proven to be quite good. However, I bought this wheel because it used DT spokes. I am heavy, but DT has lasted me 3-4 years on other wheels, but on this wheel 2 have broken in a years time. Best suited for light riders and casual use only.
Comments about Dimension w/ Alex X2000 26" MTB Wheels:
Fine, once I solved the rim tape issue. It took me 4 flats and as many rides to discover this problem though. The problem is not the rim itself, which is made well and for the price I don't believe you can do better, but the combination of rim and wrong sized tape could potentially frustrate and mystify even experienced mechanics (I consulted one who could not figure it out).
Comments about Dimension w/ Alex X2000 26" MTB Wheels:
Considering this is my fourth flat tire in a row after as many rides after switching to this wheel, I'd say my experience has been horrible. Would not recommend this wheel.
Comments about Dimension w/ Alex X2000 26" MTB Wheels:
The first wheel that i bought has held up well.It was in expensive. When I wanted to build another bike I thought I would use this one again. It has not worked out well!
