Powerful brake that is a little heavier than some of its other Avid Brethren but has essentially the same stopping power at a better price point.
Came stock on my Jamis XCT 3.0 and are an upgrade over my former BB7 mechanical. Work great, one-finger stopping power, which took me a while to get used to after BB7s for years. Can give a turkey call under quick heavy braking but does not affect performance. Highly recommended!

I have a 2012 Slayer 70 and replaced the Formula One brakes with these and have never looked back. The modulation and control I get out of these brakes keep me in control at all times. No random sounds or squeaks, and powerful stopping in emergencies. I not had a single issue with them and when the budget permits they're going on my XC Niner rig as well
