More reliable than the Elixir CR. With less adjustments on board, this is as powerful as a CR without the reliability issues. As with all Avids, great lever feel. I don;t find anything wrong with these brakes but if I were to nitpick, the hydraulic fluid does find it's way out after a while, and corrodes the master cylinder housing. Unlike Shimano of course, which use non-corrosive brake fluid... but that's going off tangent. I'd say great stopping power, highly recommended if you don't need the pad contact adjustment feature of the CR.

The Elixirs are some of the best brakes ever fitted to my bike, the brakes are great and give you almost instant stops without skidding or throwing you over to bars. The 2 main problem I've had are that the levers are weak and become lose very easily and that the pads are awkward to get back in after removing them
