Comments about Avid Elixir X.0 Disc Brake 2010:
Good brakes, but you're gonna have to bleed them. Avid is bad about sending them out that way. Take the time to learn how to do this and you won't have to spend your money at the lbs.

Comments about Avid Elixir X.0 Disc Brake 2010:
Rocking the XO brakes on a 2011 Trek Superfly 100 Elite for a year and a half. Raced it a few times but I mostly attack the trails for fun. No complaints so far, I have a little more than 2k miles these. I've used shimano XT and Rock XTR on my other Superfly 100, these are awesome.

Comments about Avid Elixir X.0 Disc Brake 2010:
i have used shimano lx.hayes stroker and avid juicy and elixir,i think the elixirs are the best brakes i have used so far,i replaced my avid cr with the x.o.and from what i can tell the calibers are the same with a diferent paint job.the lever/mastercylinder are where the diference is the x.o. is smaler and lighter and better looking than the cr but the 1 bolt clamp that secures the lever to the handle bars is not that good,no matter how much i tighten the bolt i can stil feel and see movement in the whole lever assembly, unlike the cr that uses 2 bolts that secure the lever to the bars solidly the way its suposed to be.the feel and modulation is excellent on both brakes.some ppl have commented on the noise from all avids but i find that has more to do with your choice of pads and the allignment of the caliber.avids tri allignment caliber mounts can be very diffecult to get just right and will likely take many tries but once you get it right is the best of all the brakes i have tried.a little trick is to put a tiny smidge of grease between the concave and cone of the tri allign washers.the performance of the brakes depends on your choice of pads and rotor size and type.i run 205f,160r.and when dry i use organic pads for excelent grip and heat dispertion but they wear quickly and make noice when wet.in the rain i use semi metalic pads they are quiet when wet and last longer.i think the cr are better value for your money but the x.o. are lighter and better looking,so pick what suits you best they are both excellent brakes.
