The hydraulic disc brakes feature Ice technology. Heat from friction can cause rapid temperature increases and cause brake fade. Ice technology allows heat to dissipate quickly to keep braking even. These brakes came stock on my XC bike and I thought I would have to replace them for better power and modulation, however, after a ride using them I knew that was not the case. I like to ride very technical trails and race XC and these brakes have proven to be all I need. They are not the lightest out there but they do their job well
