There's not much to them, there just a bit of foam so your not going to be blown away by the quality but I'm actually really happy with them. They sought of felt slippery at first, even though my hands never slipped it kind felt like they would but after a couple weeks they seemed to become more sticky and i don't have that feeling with them anymore. If your a hard rider there probably not for you, they'd get torn up pretty quick after a few crashes i'd think but for the regular rider they'll do the job. They come in a heap of colours and there cheap, if you don't like them your not hugely out of pocket.

Once they were worn in and my hand molded to them they were really really really nice, but not long after they got ripped at the ends and the rip would just slowly get bigger and bigger and now they are very annoying to ride because the rip is right where my hand is... but just make sure you have big and good bar ends to prevent rippage, but they still don't last too long.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
A bit difficult to tell which part is the thicker section once you start to install it on the bar. It does not slide on easily even with the liberal use of alcohol as specified in the instructions.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
I have bought 8 pairs of these grips and love everyone of them. They offer excellent grip, even in the rain. Plus they offer extra padding for your hands. Seems like they absorb some of the jolts making it easier on your wrists.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
best grips by far. Only problem is that they are slippery when wet or sweaty. If your wearing gloves this isn't a problem.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
These grips took a lot of the vibration out of my bars from small rocks expecially in AZ. Lots of rock gardens! My hands and arms feel less fatigued because of the vibration dampening. I ended up using large bar ends to help protect the ends from tearing in the event of a crash. Have not had any issues with the end tearing (yet) as some have stated. Their not as soft as I was expecting but their way better than lock-on rubber grips. I thought it might be hard to install but it turned out to be really easy according to the instructions. I was also able to remove and replace them to change levers with no issues either. The don't slip.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
These are, like many of the reviews here say, no-nonsense grips. No logos, no weird rubber compounds, just a tube of specially "butted" silicone.
They're light and stay on alloy bars well.
But for nearly $19, they're pricy. I'd expect them to be at least less than Oury's which have a bit more complicated molding process.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
If you are serious about competition look no fruther than these grips.
The grip on these things in all conditions both with and without gloves is unreal.
If you install these things with windex...they flat out will not throttle. They are the closest thing you can get to a lock on without physically locking on.
Lastly, they come in enough colors to match almost anyones ride.
The only real negative is...if the grips take a hard digger into something sharp like a rock, they may tear. Not to the point of not functioning but just not aesthetically pleasing.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
A super grip.
"Just" a piece of silicone. But what a comfortable piece of silicone it is!
These are some of the easiest grips to install. They stay put, offer great bar feel and clean up easily.
I dig their minimal aesthetic, though some may want something more flashy.

Comments about ESI Chunky Grips:
Great for how simple they are. I will definitely use these again. Provide nice cushion without a weight penalty.
