Focus Izalco Team 2.0 SRAM Red
The Focus Izalco Team 2.0 has been engineered with features like stable stiffness per size (SSPS). Simply put, SSPS ensures that as the frame gets bigger, the tubing dimensions increase accordingly. Each carbon fiber frame on the Focus Izalco Team bike is just the right size to keep it strong and stiff. Also incorporated into the carbon frame are carbon fiber dropouts, BB30 bottom bracket, reinforced integrated cable tunnel and elbowed comfort seat stays to absorb road vibrations. Add Tour de France winning SRAM Red into the mix, and this road bike is ready to mix it up at any bike race, fun ride or street light sprint.
The German designed and manufactured carbon fiber frame is complemented by a parts group that is worthy of a place on any bike competing at the Tour de France. SRAM Red has recently dominated the world racing scene by taking multiple victories in many major one day races and at the grand tours. SRAM Red also has the distinction of being the lightest group on the market. The Focus Izalco Team 2.0 road bike carries SRAM Red front and rear derailleur. The Full SRAM Red grouppo includes the SRAM Red Crankset, SRAM Red Brakes and shifters. The SRAM Double Tap shifters include a custom reach adjustment feature.
Beyond the full SRAM Red group is a parts list that reads like every road bike junkies wish list. The Focus Izalco Team 2.0’s cockpit is outfitted with 3T handlebar, stem and post with a Fi’zi:k K:ium saddle. There is no need to upgrade the stock wheels on this road bike as they are the 1450 gram DT Swiss wheelset. Slap a race number on it and dominate your next bike race!

Coming off riding both my Colnago Dream Lux and my Colnago C40, the first thing I noticed was how smooth this bicycle rides. It's a very obvious difference in how it feels gliding over the road. Having ridden it now only about 6 times for maybe 250 miles, I have no regrets making the purchase. If you have a $3K budget, I don't think you can get a better deal on beautiful frame with such high level components. Plus they are not so common. It turns the heads of other cyclists. And... it's fast. I've already beaten a couple of my Strava records in both flat speed and climbing segments..... and it's still the off season.
