You will no longer need to sacrifice speed for versatility. The ASR 5 offers the tight, fast handling of an XC race bike with the plushness and versatility of an all mountain rig. At the heart of the frame is an Active Suspension (AS) design, soaking up the rough stuff and transferring power from the pedals to the rear wheel without a loss of energy. Up front the main triangle is constructed of hydroformed aluminum, giving it a stunning appearance while adding strength and stiffness at a very low weight. However front-end stiffness is just half the battle, that's why Yeti engineers chose to fabricate the rear triangle using a blend of high and standard modulus carbon fiber. This allowed them to build a layup that keeps the wheel tracking as straight-as-an-arrow while maintaining lateral rigidity. If needed or preferred the rear dropouts can convert from QR to thru axle (sold separately).

I've always had an affinity for the Yeti brand and jumped at the opportunity to buy the ASR-5 frame. For a mtb I must admit that this frame is drop dead beautiful. The paint, the welds and the build all exude quality. And the ride quality has blown me away. (Note: I opted for the 142mm rear dropout chips so that might have made a difference as well.) I consider myself an aggressive rider and truly appreciate how this bike handles. Very happy with this purchase.

i built this frame up with good trail riding parts this is by far the best i ever ridden and owned.its fast and takes a beating ,have had no problems yet with the frame. you should use the 142 thru axle it stiffins up the rear nice.

I've a few bikes in the past. But when I bought this and built it up. I was just amazed. This bike can go anywhere weather your doing just a local loop or a epic all day ride this yeti has the goods. I would say with out a doubt I will never need to buy another bike ever. Yeti knows what they are doing. Other than say buying the full carbon asr5. This bike climbs so well. Seated or standing. And descends just awesome. Have done some small drops on local trail and never felt like it bottomed out. So buy it and ride with the heritage and pride that yeti out in their bikes
