I bought a 2009 Jamis parker used on pinkbike but it got stolen my first semester in college. I loved the Bike so much that decided to buy another jamis parker, this time new, from jensonusa. The geometry on this frame is perfect with a 120-140mm for slopestyle and light freeride. The adjustable rockshox domain will let you dail in that geometry depending on what you're riding. DJ? slam it to 115mm. Hitting drops and booters? 140 is where i like it. My initial impression of the bike was not great because my 09 Parker was bought off of a photographer who had been gifted the bike by jamis sponsored George Ryan. As such it being a pro's bike, the thing weighed near 28lbs and was spec way above the Jamis Parker I. However, after riding my new parker I, I got used to the weight and actually changed my riding style to more freeride. The wheels tires and brakes have all performed flawlessly but the shimano shifter and mech leaves a little be desired in terms of durability and ease of shifting. The pedals gave out after 20 or so sessions. Not terrible for stock pedals but be aware that you'll be needing a new pair. I use my Jamis at valmont bike park, boulder colorado. It hucks well and feels indestructible as far as frame, fork, and wheels go. As of march 1st 2012, I've had the bike for around 7 months and have not had to replace anything except pedals. Most abusive usage was a 10 set to flat.
I absolutely love this frame and will keep it till it snaps.
I am actually planning a build right now trying to get my 2010 frame down the weight of of my 2009 jamis. Going with saint cranks, single front raceface chainring, atomlab pimplite wheels, sram X9 rear mech and shifter, avid elixir CR 160mm front and rear, SDG I beam saddle and post, SMAC 31" handlebar, rock shox sektor solo air. Trying to get to sub 30 lbs for 5 inch front travel, 4 rear.

At the moment, I use the bike because it's the only bike I have. I mean, for the price, this bike was a solid choice. The fork was good, had a nice amount of travel, and for about the first month, was working to my newbie standards. But then my rear shock started to fail. The Bar 1.0 was leaking, and even when I put my time into it to try and fix it, the thing just continued to fail me. After about 2 months, the rear tire didn't move an inch, and when it did, the rebound took about a minute to come back up. And I began to get a little bit better and faster. I decided to upgrade the rear shock to a DHX 5.0. This made the rear suspension all the much better, and with some work I got the full potential out of the rear system. But still, the bike continued to fall apart. Now I have to personally service my bike weekly to bleed my brakes, tighten my derailleur, and fix up the cranks. Right now, my bike is undeniably stuck in the second gear, and I have spent just about the original price of the bike trying to get it repaired and failing. I'm just going to get rid of the Shimano and try something new. Overall, the bike has potential, and it's a good frame, but the stock version definitely needs some work. I'd recommend just buying the frame.
Over all its a really good bike and never regretted buying it, everything good in a bike shoved into a package for $1300.
