very good front DR. Never tried XT or XTR, but for the price (especially lightly used or OEM takeoff on fleabay) you can't go wrong.

I've been riding mountain bikes for about 20 years. I'm 63 years old now and the bike keeps me in great shape. If you want to be in good health ride a bike road or mountain, either will keep you healthy.

I replaced my tired old Deore rear derailleur with an SLX sgs and it worked so well I had to retire the Deore front derailleur and shifters for SLX too. The SLX components are every bit as good as XTR if you don't mind a few extra grams and a whole lot more money left in your wallet.
