GT Sensor Elite Bike 2015

GT Sensor Elite Bike 2015

Since day one GT has been no stranger to the rugged, untamed world of mountain biking. As an industry leader in technology, GT has made a name for itself by consistently setting the standards by which the competition obeys. GT Bicycles have been at the forefront of success in the World’s top mountain biking events, such as the 2013 World Cup at Fort William and Val di Sole, where Rachel and Gee Atherton took double victories at both (back to back) events. GT does not only strive for success in the Elite level of racing, but at all levels and in all disciplines for all riders. Take a gander at the 2015 Sensor collection, and you’ll be quick to notice this to be true.

The GT Sensor Elite bike is ready to brawl. Do whatever is necessary to make it to the weekend because we all know there’s some business to be handled out in the woods and the GT Sensor is the tool for the job. The 6069 Hydroformed Aluminum frame, with its 130mm travel Rockshox Sektor fork and Fox Racing Shox Float rear shock lays down a solid foundation for the value conscience components. At the heart of the build is a Shimano Deore 3x10 drivetrain that helps drive the power to a set of Alex wheels wrapped in fast rolling Continental X-King rubber. Located on the All Terra 740 mm bars you will find the controls for the powerful Shimano BR-M447 Hydraulic disc brakes.

Buy the more expensive bike!

Comments about GT Bicycles GT Sensor Elite Bike 2015:

This bike is great if you want to ride the local walking trails near your house. I've owned it less the 9 months and here's what's broken so far. The hanger for the rear derailluer twice and you can't find replacements easy. The rear derailluer was was trashed after the first hanger break. The front fork lock out wasn't working after the 1st 3 months and now my back wheel is wobbling. With that said I don't abuse the bike but I do ride it hard. For the price point its not too bad, but I would suggest to anyone to save up a couple extra months and buy a better quality bike.

Comments about GT Bicycles GT Sensor Elite Bike 2015:

Replaced an old GT LTS with this - technology has changed. I enjoy the suspension travel and smoothness. It seems to feel like the COG is low, providing stability. The weight and triple chainrings are a nuisance. Look at the 2016 models because it went to a double chainring and the wheelset is tubeless ready.

Definitely not able to keep up with a hard tail.

Great Bike, very versatile...4.5 stars

Comments about GT Bicycles GT Sensor Elite Bike 2015:

The bike rides super well; it descends like a madman and climbs pretty well too (even without changing the rebound on the rear shock). The brakes have plenty of stopping power as I've had to test them coming into corners way too hot that I don't know. The areas where I think this bike/setup could improve is with a better wheelset (I need to true my rear wheel after 4 rides, given I am 6'1" and weigh 210 & I do have a fairly aggressive riding style) and I would like to have a remote for the rear shock. Other than that, I'm super pleased with the bike and would definitely recommend it. I would rate 5 starts with a better wheelset.

Nice bike but disappointed in replacement of derailleur hanger duration. Almost a month with no eta, bought one locally and found several online, not sure why taking so long

I have owned my GT Sensor Elite for 3 months now, and ride 3 to 4 nights a week. I must say after riding several bikes over the years, this is an excellent ride.
