This is a partial review for a partial headset. Upon receiving my headset from Jenson, I discovered that the bearings and top cap bolt were missing... this was a bummer because I was waiting on this headset to finish my build.
Called Jenson that night (Thursday); they said they would send a replacement via 2 Day air. A week later and my new headset has not arrived so now I'm miffed at both Woodman and Jenson.
Ended up robbing a trusty Race Face Deus headset from my wife's bike (don't tell her) and so I'm up for now. I don't think I'll even bother with the Woodman whenever Jenson gets around to sending my replacement. From what I can see, the crown race is flimsy as is the top cap and they can't manage to send all of the required parts in the packaging. This coupled with a couple of other less-than-favorable reviews are enough to move on. I'm over Woodman.

I purchased two of these, both have the same problem. Loose top cups because of no compression ring. The O-ring captured top cup lets the steer tube move no matter how hard you tighten it. Rattles so bad i thought my fork was toast. It also did put a wear line in my aluminum steer tube. But i guess it looks nice?

The good:
- Comes in a variety of colors
- Cartridge bearings are maintenance-free
The bad:
- uses a Torx bolt for compression cap
- Crown race not very durable
Rode it for about 300 miles, while I was washing the bike one day I noticed a crack in the crown race radiating from the steering tube. I had to pay 10 bucks to get a replacement, and it had to be shipped from China!

I bought this headset when the Cane Creek S3 was out of stock, but it was a mistake. The woodman might look really nice, but it requires a lot of preload to remove the play. At that point it becomes a bit rough and is no longer smooth.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Purchased this for a custom build roadie. Was difficult to install (would not press in evenly) but it may have been caused by the frame headtube, who knows.WANTED a Chris King HS but didn't want to fork out the $. Great for the price!
