Pros:
The helmet fits an average head well, and throughout the seasons and various headwear, adjusts flawlessly. Even in heavy rain, at a good clip, you won't need a helmet cover to keep most of the rain out.
Cons:
I like the visor, but it is generally *just* to short/high to be really useful. It's great protection during midday, but that is unfortunately, only about 3 hours out of a given 24. Other than that, there is one small gripe: the front webbing straps pass *over* the padded adjustment strap, completely negating the purpose of the padding. An easy fix is to reroute the webbing by undoing all the clips and rethreading it.
Bottom Line:
The Indicator is a good, all around helmet, and not much more can be said. There are lighter helmets, and there are more aero helmets, but they all protect the same.

Avoid
Avoid. Look for a helmet that has the straps independent of the craptlastic plastic suspension. I would not recommend this too a friend.

Comments about Giro Indicator Helmet '12:
The helmet fits nicely for a variety of sizes and is quite simple to adjust with one hand by turning a little nob in the back when it's on. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to have any antimicrobial properties in the pads as it has begun to stink after a few weeks of sweat. Some of the pads are not easy to remove for washing (though it can be done).

Comments about Giro Indicator Helmet '12:
Good helmet for the price; lightweight and well ventilated, though the chin straps twist a bit and don't lay flat around the ears. The adjustable fit keeps a snug fit even over roots and rock gardens.

Comments about Giro Indicator Helmet '12:
Solid, reasonably priced helmet. I took a spill a few weeks ago and this helmet performed as it should. The cracked side and scraped top were an appreciated alternative to a cracked skull and scraped up head/face. Bought the EXACT same model as a replacement.

Comments about Giro Indicator Helmet '12:
Flying down a rocky trail 15mph had a pinch flat and lost control flew over handlebars and landed headfirst into some nasty rocks, came a way dazed and confused but overall pretty darn good, I believe I own my life or at least my brain to this helmet. Looking to buy again.

Great helmet for the price. I haven't fell with it yet but it seems durable enough to protect well.

Great helmet for the money. Easy one-hand fit adjustment while riding. Only con is that the straps around the ears twist when you close the clasp - they don't lie flush.

Good entry level helmet, fits comfortable and the adjustment system works fine.
Would not recommend it for agressive riding.
Comments about Giro Indicator Helmet '12:
What more can I say than it saved my life. I was going down a single track on Mt. Pinos, dug the front tire into some thick mud and endo'd at appx. 33 mph, rolled quite a bit and almost got launched off the cliff. I know I smacked my head a few times on the rocks but I just got right up, laughed it off for 5 minutes and kept going. For the price you really can't beat it.
