The A-1 Helmet started out as a mission to modify Troy Lee Designs’ skate-inspired freestyle helmet designs for use in trail and cross country mountain biking. After countless brainstorming sessions and modifications, that idea was scrapped. Troy Lee Designs’ design team quickly got back to work, this time with a blank canvas. Working from the ground up, the design team was able to create the stylish and ultra functional, Cyclops A-1 trail helmet. This Moto-Inspired helmet has an EPS shell that is interlaced during the molding process with fiberglass strands that reinforce the structure for maximum strength. The low back and brow are further inspired by Troy Lee Designs’ Moto design group, and this is for further protection and coverage for aggressive riding. The Polycarbonate shell is co-molded with EPS foam. All this construction comes together to make a super durable trail helmet. Comfort and cutting edge features are a must; this is why Troy Lee Designs has made sure to include an extra thick comfort liner with moisture wicking fabric. This cutting-edge fabric is impregnated with an anti-microbial treatment which helps to keep the interior of the A-1 dry and fresh. 16 channeling air vents, 8 in the front and 8 in the rear, direct airflow from the front of the helmet and out of the rear. This channeling of airflow keeps your core temperature cool while flushing heated air out. The visor has a 25mm range of motion, up or down, for superior adjustability.

The first thing you notice about the helmet is its look. TLD has always put looks and design at the same priroty as protection and this helmet is no diferent. The helemt fits low and tight to your head and once its on and adjusted properly it does not move.
