TECH EVO LEVER
For 2012 the lever pivot has been slightly shortened which translates to a 15% increase in power. The Tech Evo lever now has a roller fitted to the cam mechanism, further enhancing the smooth feel of the lever. Ambidextrous ‘flip flop’ design, CNC machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aircraft spec aluminium alloy - with a split clamp to allow easy set up and choice of positioning. Redesigned piston, lever and pivot assembly with external ‘on the fly’ reach and bite point adjustment dials. The lever linkage eliminates freeplay in the lever giving a consistent and reliable feel to the brake. Further developments include bearing lever pivots for smooth, rock free use and increased lever ergonomics with a perforated lever for extra grip and feel. Also, a double sided reservoir lid makes for easy bleeding. The brake is supplied with a choice of either hi tensile polyester reinforced or Goodridge stainless steel braided hose.
V2 CALIPER
Revised one piece caliper, CNC machined from a solid billet of 2014 T6 aircraft spec aluminium alloy. A drip free bleed nipple and wide angle orientation of the fluid inlet connector have also been added, allowing for neater hose routing and cleaner servicing.

Comments about Hope Technology Hope Tech V2 Evo Disc Brake 2012:
Great Brakes, super powerful. Not sure why someone else posted they don't stop, maybe they didn't burn in the brakes properly, but the stop really well. They modulate fairly well, better with organic pads than sintered. With sintered pads they are a little touchy and it's easy to grab too hard and lock up, especially in panic situations. I use EBC's DH red organic pads and they work great. The only downsides are the weight, but most DH brakes are, the braided cables can be difficult to route in small spaces because the are thick and stiff but those issues are easy work arounds. The only thing I don't like about them is the levers are a little bit long for my taste and they need a long pull to engage the pads to the rotor. It makes one finger braking a little more difficult than say the new Shimano short levers.

Comments about Hope Technology Hope Tech V2 Evo Disc Brake 2012:
I put the V2 brakes with the Hope vented rotors on my Dare, and it stops incredibly quick with minimal effort. V2 brakes have the pad contact adjustment and the lever position adjustment, so its easy to dial them in for any hand size. These brakes rock, while you roll... Weight conscience racers will want to get the regular Hope rotors for the obvious savings in grams. Plus they will save you some money.

The Hope V2's Look very pretty but that is about it. I gave them one star because that was as low as it would let me rate them.
These brakes just do not stop you, when you pull the lever the piston throw just keeps throwing before there is any movement of the pistons. Once the pistons move and you can feel the rotation of your wheels starting to slow down your fingers are getting pinched between your bar and brake lever, but in if you know the trail and know where you need to start to slow down you can pump and pump then brakes and you have a hand full of brakes so this prevents from pinching your fingers. These brakes have maybe 25 rides on them and have been bled about 30 times by several different bike shops. I have called Hope, emailed Hope with no luck. These brakes are HOPEless! I would NEVER recommend these to anyone!
I am waiting for the new Saints to come out, I cannot wait!

Comments about Hope Technology Hope Tech V2 Evo Disc Brake 2012:
I use the Hope V2 brakes on my 2011 Specialized Demo 8. I have used other brakes in the past such as Saints and Codes, but these feel much better overall. I really like how they look with the machining marks on the parts and how they are made from a single piece of billet. I listed as buying the V2 rotors as a negative just because of the additional cost, but the rotors have a larger contact area than most other rotors available.
