I've used these shorts for 3 or 4 years, both for mountain biking and commuting. For the most part they have stood up to the abuse. One pair has a hole in one of the pockets, other than that they are going strong.
I find the Zoic ethers to be more comfortable for longer rides but these are excellent shorts. For the price, nothing comes close.

These XXL shorts are nowhere close to a real XXL. They are maybe
a large. I sent them back an bought a pair of Canari XXL
shorts and they fit just fine.
It sucks that Jenson doesn't give a warning about the
sizing in the product description.

Got these for a killer deal on Jenson, good pants, got M and I am 155 5'11''. They are just big enough to get into. There is no front button or clasp of any kind, the waist is slightly elastic and has an interesting velcro/buckle thing. The chamois is super comfortable. Probably going to be pretty hot in the summer but great for spring and fall for sure. Go ride!

I love the design, style, utility of these shorts. But dang they keep getting smaller every year they make them. I was right on the verge of L according to thier size chart first time. Next time I got XL and same size. Just now I bought XXL and SAME FIT!? Cause I still wear the old L and XL. (actually I'd say the XXL are as tight as the old L I have, I'm hoping they will loosen up with wear) They are all cut/sized nearly the same...? (the large are heavier material, but same pattern) Has their pattern shrunk every year? Is someone manually cutting these and trimming off part of the pattern every time??? I would have returned them. But at this point you can't get these shorts anymore cause they had a fire in their factory and I don't know if they will start making them again. Only reason I kept them

I admit that 80% of the time I'm a roadie but the MTB guys have the right idea about shorts and jerseys. These guys are loose enough to be comfortable and have good padding in the right spot. Also I use the two zippered pockets to secure my cell phone and wallet. Summer is around the corner and those super tight spandex road shorts are hot, and crimp my style and hairy legs. I like to wear these with a loose MTB jersey or even a confortable tee, and since those always don't have rear pockets I can still carry my phone and ID when I ride on the road. I do get some strange looks from the roadies when I ride the pavement! These shorts are well made, the padding is comfortable and the price is right; on or off the road they're great!

I have been using Hoss Ponderosa Shorts for four years now and I love them. They are reasonably priced but most importantly they are comfortable and work great for mountain biking.
