does what it is suppose to do-reliably holds air.
tough enough for freeride and at a descent weight.

Comments about Intense Tire Systems Invader MT Tire '10:

I ran this tire as a front on my DH bike and it worked quite well. The one thing i noticed about the Intense tire is that it was very sticky (especially the rear 909 that i used). This was great on the trails but I'm not a racer so for freeriding it just meant that the tire wore out pretty quick.
I did find that the tire compound was strong and I didnt get any flats or any pinch flats after harsh/flat landings. The one con about this tire is its high rolling resistance. Commuting to the trails was a chore as there are super slow tires but once pointed downhill they truly shine.
If you are a racer I would recommend this tire as it sticks really well and works in most conditions. If you just freeride and fool around on the bike I would looks else where as it wears pretty fast within a season.

        Pros

        • Excellent protection
        • EXCELLENT TRACTION
        • Folding Bead
        • Roll fairly quick
        • Tubeless compatible
        • Versatile

        Cons

        • Wear fast

        Best Uses

        • Aggressive all mountain
        • DH Race
        • Freeride

Comments about Intense Tire Systems Invader MT Tire '10:

Intense seems to be the only company that makes a double ply tire with a kevlar bead and no pinch flat junk. I run all my tire tubeless so pinch flat protection is unnecessary and adds weight. The soft rubber compound hooks up really well in almost any condition but as a result they wear out relatively fast. I have these on my do it all bike, DH, Freeride, and All mountain; their light enough and roll good enough to pedal the bike up anything and they are strong enough to hold up on a fast rocky decent down South Mountain (the roughest tire eating trails I've ridden.)

After 2 months of hard riding treads are still intact... proper inflation is needed to optimize the use...
