The original Tracer was already a proven winner - but as it turns out, there is always room for improvement. Intense has tweaked, tuned, and re-invented the Tracer and the result is the all-new Tracer 2 frame for 2011. It builds on the original Tracer design and adds:
- a stiffer, asymmetrical rear end
- improved geometry
- integrated cable routing for a "dropper" (i.e. Joplin or similar) seatpost

Just moved to Vancouver, so I figured I could use a bigger bike than my 130 mm XC bike to ride the Shore and Whistler. So far so good.
I keep the frame in 160 mm mode for more DH oriented rides. Super plush, precise, very confidence inspiring.
For general trail riding, I use the 145 mm mode for a firmer feel. Awesome there too, holds traction very well on climbs and descents. Can barely notice the extra weight.
I can't really compare to other frames in the category, but being on the Tracer, I don't notice anything which would make me want to try another frame. It's the perfect ride for me!

A very nice and great performing bike but really is oriented towards more aggressive AM rather than the Trail side of AM. Heavy duty and feels unbreakable with truly outstanding suspension performance on high speed technical descents.
