If you really want black, as i did, then consider buying a black ripcord kit and separate liner which Jenson also sell. I did not realize I could do this.
The color swatches (for carbon color at least) cannot faithfully represent the actual color you will receive. Carbon appears to be graphite colored: closer to mid grey than to black.
Disregard my rating as I have not fitted yet.

I race MTB and cyclocross in the pacific NW. Lots of rain, wet, and mud. Last fall, looking to improve the braking performance on my cyclocross bike (lots of drag and friction) I installed GORE's sealed brak cables. The difference was incredible: super smooth and slick. So slick that I needed to turn down the spring tension on the brake arms! (Only con is the price. GORE=expensive!)
This past summer I built up a full-suspension MTB and initially decided to installe GORE cables since a full run of housing would be needed for the brakes and rear derailleur. Unfortunately (or fortunately!!) my LBS was out of stock for the "tandem" cable set that I would need to get a sufficient length of housing. So I went with the Jagwire Ripcord set instead-- for half the price! Plus I could get red instead of boring old black. After installing the cables, I discovered that I could turn down the spring tension on the BB7 brake calipers-- the Jagwire cables were slick! Braking performance has been incredibly smooth and light. Rear shifting performance is excellent with little peceived drag at the shift lever. The Jagwire Ripcord cables provide about 95% (or or more) of the performace of the GORE cables at half the price. Plus you have color options!
NOTE: I run a drop bar on my mountain bike and thus run the brake cables under handlebar tape with additional bends (as opposed to a flat handle bar installation) so that just proves how fantastically slick and smooth these cables are!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent product, super durable, I got my original Jag Wire cable caught in the chain ring and it was torn up but still worked until I got around to replacing it. Kind of expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Installed nicely and looks good. My bike uses full-length housings, so there was only enough for the rear derailleur.
Cables are teflon coated, which is good. Now I've got an extra!
